Young Superstars II #11 - Gerald Young

Auto post still isn't auto posting...

I can't tell if the white streak is the ball or something hanging in front of the dugout. If it is the ball, Mr. Young is going the right way for a broken finger.

I'm not sure if you could really consider Gerald Young's career a flop or not. He always hit well at the minor league level, but never transitioned into a good major league player. He was an exceptional centerfielder, and in 568 career games he made only 12 errors.

He also possessed better than average speed and finished second in the league with 65 swipes in 1988. But he also had a penchant fot getting thrown out and in both 1988 and 1989 topped the league in times caught.

But his lack of offensive support and injuries had him bouncing between Triple-A and the major leagues for the last five years of his career. He was finished with baseball in 1994 at the age of 29.
